Introduction #
The LORD’s goodness to his people is unparalleled. He continues to bless His people despite their underserving state and conduct. The LORD has just promised David that the throne will be established in David’s household that will last forever. In Jewish thought, this is a promise of deliverance that will come through the promised Messiah. This goodness is from the LORD. David responds to the LORD’s covenant with thanksgiving. In doing so, he teaches us the attitude of giving thanks to the LORD for all he is and what he has done and continues to do. Giving thanks is done in moments but should be understood as an attitude. It is an attitude of gratitude.
